A Millsboro woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash southeast of Laurel Saturday night, State Police said. 

The woman, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, was headed south on Gordy Road when she did not stop at the T-intersection with Whitesville Road, police said.

She went off the road, into a grassy area, police said. Her 2007 Nissan Sentra came to a stop after hitting the embankment. 

The 38-year-old woman was not wearing a seat belt, police said. She was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
